The MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute is an integral component of The MetroHealth System and the top rehabilitation hospital in Ohio and #24 in the nation (US News and World Report, 2022-2023).
The Institute is the only academic rehabilitation facility in northeast Ohio fully integrated into a Level I Trauma Center, a comprehensive stroke center, and a federally designated spinal cord injury model systems, one of only 14 in the nation. The Institute is the only rehabilitation facility in northern Ohio with dedicated units for stroke, brain injury and spinal cord injury (SCI)/major trauma rehabilitation. It also is the region’s only CARF accredited Comprehensive Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
Our Amputee Rehabilitation Program serves patients who have undergone amputations of upper or lower limbs, and features access to an inpatient rehabilitation facility and outpatient services. Our interdisciplinary team focuses on the unique aspects of amputee care and strives to meet all our patient’s needs while working to improve their quality of life and independence.
