The Institute for Advanced Rehabilitation is located within the region’s only Level One Trauma Center at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Our patients benefit from Orlando Health’s critical care services and physicians who have knowledge of the patient from the onset of their injury or illness. This network of services includes specialized physicians, state-of-the-art equipment and diagnostic services, and treatment options not available at other centers.
Conveniently located on the top two floors of the Orlando Regional Medical Center North Bed Tower, the Institute for Advanced Rehabilitation focuses on the rehabilitation of patients following a recent hospitalization or to prevent acute episodes of rehospitalization. The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) has accredited our Brain Injury Program, Spinal Cord Injury Program, Stroke Program. CARF recognizes our 4 specialty programs as meeting the highest standards in quality, safety and outcome measures, which provide risk-reduction and accountability in our patient care. The Amputee Specialty program will be included in our upcoming survey.
The inpatient rehabilitation team includes Physiatrists, Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Recreational Therapists, Registered Dieticians, Respiratory Therapists, Neuropsychology, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Support Services team members, spiritual care services, Pet Therapy Pediatric Specialists from Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children (for our adolescent patients)
